Community Partnerships
Deep Run PTA
The Deep Run PTA is a proud supporter of our Green School efforts. We have two parent members who serve as the Green School co-chairs, advocating for funds for related activities and materials. Our PTA also ran a fundraiser with Boon Supply during the fall of 2020.
Terracycle
Terracycle is a way for students and staff to recycle items that would usually not be able to be recycled. They recycle things such as chip bags and glue sticks. Students sort out and organize these recyclables by category.

Franks Nursery and Garden Center
Franks Farm stand continues to be a long time community partner with Deep Run Elementary School. Students in Pre K and RECC take walking field trips to Franks. They also let the school use plants from their nursery during out "parking lot" events.
Master Gardeners
The mission of the Howard County Master Gardeners is to educate residents about safe, effective, and sustainable horticultural practices that build healthy gardens, landscapes, and communities. These volunteers aim to provide education services to many groups, including schools. Deep Run has had Master Gardeners come in to give many presentations over the years. Favorites include those teaching about reptiles and amphibians of Maryland, which included bringing in tadpoles for the children to see up close and personal, as well as learning about butterflies such as the Monarch and the native plants they use as both host plant and nectar plant.
